EastEnders has confirmed that Anthony Trueman is harbouring a secret, with the figure concealing a sinister plan. As the mystery around Zoe Slater’s stalker intensifies, could he be involved?

Anthony returned to East London in August just in time for Patrick and Yolande’s wedding, and has stayed in the area since. Around the same time, his former flame Zoe returned after two decades away, and they spoke briefly.

 

 

Zoe has since been stalked by a mystery person around Walford, with Anthony being one of the main suspects. He has denied all involvement, though his closest family members have noticed that he has been acting strangely.

Thursday’s (6 November) episode saw Kat ask Zoe for a coffee as they attempted to thrash things out, with Kat telling Alfie that her daughter needed to talk to somebody. She invited Anthony along, though it was awkward between him and Zoe.

 

 

As Zoe reiterated the story about her missing cat, Kat and Anthony both wondered if the various stresses in her life were causing her to become paranoid. Zoe didn’t take to the suggestion too well, and promptly left.

Zoe returned home, and began to hear her cat meowing. She was startled as Bert came upstairs, and terrified him as she questioned him. Ernie then came in with a bag, and revealed the cat was inside.

 

 

Elsewhere in the episode, Anthony arrived in The Queen Vic and spoke with his family, who shared that he had missed a call from the surgery. As they pressured him more, he left to retrieve his phone, causing Patrick to become more suspicious.

Later Anthony explained that he had received a job offer from the practice, with Patrick and Yolande being delighted at the news. Howie didn’t seem to be buying it, however, as he looked on with doubt.

Anthony headed to the café for a secret call, saying: “It’s me. Yes I know I’m not supposed to be calling. I’ve told dad about the job… No, of course I haven’t told him about anything else.”

“So if he calls, don’t answer. It’s the least we can do, don’t you think? Protect him from what’s really going on?” he continued, but who was on the other end of the line?
