Summer Bay’s newest romance is about to face its first major test. A brand-new Home and Away promo has unveiled the long-awaited arrival of Eddie Shepherd, Jo’s ex-boyfriend — and his presence threatens to derail her secret relationship with Tane Parata.
After months of longing glances and emotional tension, Jo (Maddison Brown) and Tane (Ethan Browne) finally gave in to their feelings last week. The pair decided to keep their relationship hidden from Jo’s family, especially her father David (Jeremy Lindsay Taylor), who has been openly wary of Tane’s past.
David’s distrust grew after he discovered Tane’s police record while reviewing suspended sentences at the station. Confronted, Tane chose honesty, telling Jo everything about his troubled history with baby Poppy. Jo accepted his past, admitting it didn’t look good on paper but valuing the truth — solidifying their connection.
Yet, just as they take a chance on love, a ghost from Jo’s past walks back into Summer Bay.
Eddie’s Arrival Sparks Chaos
Eddie Shepherd (Stephen Madsen) enters the scene as the first musician signed to Remi’s (Adam Rowland) new Back on Track record label. What Remi doesn’t realise is that his latest recruit has deep personal ties to someone very close to home.
In the new promo, Eddie strolls into the Beach House — and Jo freezes in shock.
“Eddie!” she gasps, unable to hide her surprise.
“It’s been a long time,” he replies smoothly, his tone hinting at unfinished business.
“Sure has,” Jo says, caught between nostalgia and panic.
The chemistry between them is undeniable, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. When Tane later spots them in conversation, his face says it all — jealousy, confusion, and fear that history might repeat itself.
David’s Guard Is Up

Stephen Madsen’s character isn’t just a passing guest. The actor, known for Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries and Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, has reportedly filmed for at least a month and will appear in Home and Away’s 2025 season finale — rumoured to centre around a dramatic train crash.
His arrival marks a new chapter for Summer Bay’s romantic drama, one filled with emotional stakes, buried secrets, and heartbreak waiting to ignite.
