As Amy Throws Another Wrench In Tesoro’s Adoption, Sarah Declares Her and Xander’s Marriage Over… Forever

Leo and Javi push Tesoro through a square overflowing with the Halloween spirit! And fake jack-o’-lanterns, but it is what it is. Javi gives

Leo (and us) a lesson in Dia de las Brujas — Day of the Witches — but the fun comes crashing down when Amy asks for a moment with her

grandson. She’s grateful to both of them — even if she doesn’t approve of their “lifestyle.” But it’s all good with the guys, so Javi lets her hold the baby.

But when he brings up Johnny and Chanel, Amy flips her lid. “Those two will raise my grandson over my dead body.” This isn’t what God or Sophia wants. She needs to be her daughter’s voice (since Sophia’s not around anymore), she says before leaving the stunned guys behind.

Days of Our Lives Friday Recap: Is This Really the End of Xander/Sarah?

Stephanie and Chanel go over plans for the book/Sweet Bits/The Bookclub launch in the Pub and Steph tells Chanel about her secret identity. Chanel’s over the moon until Stephanie blames this on her controlling ex.

Philip, Johnny and Alex meet to go over the new Anastasia book, at which point Johnny also learns that Stephanie and Anastasia are the same person. He promises not to tell Chanel. (Too late.) Philip and Alex then broach where Johnny’s loyalty lies, and he promises it’s with Titan. And he’s firing on all cylinders, despite the adoption troubles.

Days of Our Lives Friday Recap: Is This Really the End of Xander/Sarah?

After Johnny leaves, Alex catches up to him outside the Pub and says he’s pulling for him and Chanel with the adoption. Inside, they all toast to Anastasia/Stephanie, realizing everyone knows the truth.

Johnny and Chanel exit, so Alex and Stephanie go over how Philip knows her identity. Alex is just slightly — OK majorly — upset about Philip recognizing his sexual escapades with Stephanie in the book and starts chugging beer. Because it’s not like he has a sexual history that would dwarf Stephanie’s…

Xander sorrowfully admits he did, in fact, attack Philip. And that is it for Sarah. He gaslit her, he lied; he’s amoral and soulless. Xander insists he’ll regret attacking Philip for the rest of his life, but it’s too late. Sarah says they are “really, truly done.”

She knows all his apologies, and promises to do better and to change and just can’t believe him or in him anymore. “There’s no us, not anymore.” She takes off her rings and tells him to get out of the house forever.

When Maggie returns, Sarah’s staring mournfully into the fireplace. This is it, she says. “He’s pure evil, mom.” Maggie doesn’t try suggesting it’s a bit more complicated than that, but it’s fine, because Sarah claims she’ll never love Xander again. That would be more convincing if she didn’t seem so hurt and sad. They talk over how they both realized what Xander had done, and how Sarah always knew it deep down.

Xander, meanwhile, drops in on Philip at the Salem Inn, cracks open a beer and laments to his brother that it’s all over. This time is different. Philip insists that if he can forgive Xander, so can Sarah — but his brother doesn’t believe it.

After Chanel and Johnny leave the Pub, they find Leo and Javi, still lurking in the square with Tesoro, and get the news about Amy. Leo and Javi offer to help any way they can, then leave Johnny and Chanel to fret some more. (They do realize there are other babies out there they can adopt, right? Like… a lot of them.)

Sarah asks Maggie for time alone, so her mom gives it, after reassuring Sarah of how strong she is. Sarah calls Justin to file for divorce. Xander, meanwhile, gets home, rips his coat off, picks up a glass vase and, before he can smash it in anger, stops himself and takes a breath. Instead, he just cries on his bed.
