After being kicked out of her home by daughter-in-law Fizz Dobbs, Cassie hits rock bottom. The fallout came after she abandoned Tyrone, who is still recovering from life-changing injuries following his horrific car accident. Cassie had left him alone to spend a drunken afternoon with boyfriend Steve McDonald — only to return and find Tyrone lying helplessly on the floor after falling from his wheelchair. The confrontation that followed saw Fizz reach her breaking point and throw Cassie out for good.

Homeless and desperate, Cassie moved in with Steve — and much to the horror of his ex-wife Tracy Barlow and father Ken. Life under one roof with Tracy was never going to be easy, and the tension immediately boiled over. The feud between the two fiery women quickly reignites next week when Cassie tries to turn her life around, but Tracy is determined to destroy any chance of redemption she has left.

As upcoming scenes unfold, Cassie decides she’s tired of sitting around feeling useless. When Steve offers her a job working the switch at Street Cars, she eagerly accepts, hoping to prove she can be responsible again. But instead of support, she faces open hostility from Tracy, who can’t stand watching her ex’s new lover settle comfortably into her old home — and now, into her old family’s life.

“She’s furious,” our Corrie insider reveals. “Tracy can’t believe Cassie’s luck. She’s got a roof over her head, a relationship, and now a new job — everything Tracy thinks she’s lost. So she’s determined to make Cassie’s life miserable, whatever it takes.”

Behind the scenes, tensions rise further when Cassie overhears Tracy bad-mouthing her to Ken and plotting to get her fired from Street Cars. But Cassie refuses to back down, vowing to prove she can stand on her own two feet and be there for Tyrone again. Yet, just as things start looking up, fate takes a cruel turn.

In a shocking twist that leaves Weatherfield reeling, Cassie’s stress and guilt catch up with her — leading to a tragic collapse in the middle of Rosamund Street. Despite desperate efforts to save her, paramedics confirm that Cassie has died suddenly, leaving Tyrone and the entire Dobbs family shattered.

The heartbreaking scenes mark the end of a turbulent chapter for one of Coronation Street’s most complex and misunderstood characters. Actress Claire Sweeney, who brought Cassie to life, has been praised by fans for her raw and emotional portrayal of a woman torn between redemption and self-destruction.
