ANXIETY ON SET: STEPHEN PEACOCKE ADMITS TO BEING “NERVOUS” AS BRAX RETURNS TO HOME AND AWAY—AFTER NEARLY A DECADE!
Summer Bay is abuzz with the news of the return of legend Darryl “Brax” Braxton, but actor Stephen Peacocke himself admits he is experiencing a wave of anxiety on set! The fan-favorite star revealed his true emotions about reprising his iconic role after nearly a decade-long absence.
The Star’s Wave of Nerves
Stephen Peacocke, who became a household name for his portrayal of Brax, candidly shared what it feels like to return to the soap that made his career . Alongside Bonnie Sveen (as Ricky Sharp), Brax is set to make a comeback in a special series of episodes filmed in Western Australia, following the couple’s 2016 departure from Summer Bay with their young son Casey

However, despite fans counting down the days, Peacocke confessed that stepping back into Brax’s shoes hasn’t been entirely easy. He admitted to feeling a palpable wave of nerves before filming:
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I still get that anxious energy every time I go to work. There’s never a day I walk away thinking that was perfect!”
Peacocke further revealed that he often second-guesses his own performances, even when the crew assures him everything is fine. “I’m the guy asking the director, ‘Are you sure that worked?’ after every take,” he laughed .
Eternal Fan Love and the Pressure to Deliver
Despite the nerves, Peacocke expressed genuine excitement about returning and exploring how Brax’s life has evolved over the past 10 years.
“It’s wild to think it’s been a decade,” he said. “The character and storyline was so well-loved, and the producers thought it would be the perfect time to check back in with Brax to see how he’s evolved.”

For Peacocke, this comeback is more than just a trip down memory lane; it’s a chance to deliver something memorable for the audience. “There’s still so much affection for Brax and Ricky,” he shared. “I just want to do justice to that and make sure these episodes are the best they can be.”
This special storyline, in collaboration with Tourism Western Australia, will take viewers through some of the state’s most stunning and rugged landscapes. Prepare for an explosive television event when Brax and Ricky return, bringing new secrets and drama in 2026!
