Home and Away Spoilers: David and Jo’s Housewarming Turns Tragic as Family Secrets Erupt

Next week on Home and Away in the UK, what begins as a joyful new start for David Langham (Jeremy Lindsay Taylor) and his daughter Jo (Maddison Brown) soon unravels into heartbreak and confrontation, as a hidden police file tears open old wounds and reignites family tensions.

A Fresh Start in a Familiar Home

After months of renting, David and Jo finally move into the Beach House — Irene Roberts’ old home and one of Summer Bay’s most iconic locations. Their arrival marks the first time in over 30 years that new owners have taken over the property, a place once filled with laughter, loyalty, and community.

Despite the bright new beginning, the Langhams’ family history casts a long shadow. Their fractured bond stems from the death of wife and mother Kristina Langham (Fiona Noonan), who died in a car crash in 2023. Jo had been driving but has no memory of the accident. The investigation found no clear cause, but her estranged sister Lacey (Sophea Pennington) has never believed the official report — or her father’s innocence in handling it.

David’s Secret Investigation

Determined to make peace, David recently discovered that Lacey had used money from their family home sale to hire a private investigator, suspecting her father of covering up the truth. When the PI refused the case, Lacey’s mistrust only grew.

Wanting to prove his integrity, David requested a copy of the original police file himself. When it finally arrives, he opens it in secret late at night — and is flooded with painful memories of his wife’s death.

The next morning, as David and Jo settle into their new home with help from Justin (James Stewart) and Alf (Ray Meagher), spirits are high. David even decides to host a housewarming barbecue, inviting friends old and new to mark their fresh start.

Jo Makes a Devastating Discovery

While tidying up, Jo stumbles upon the hidden police file tucked away under the stairs. One glance at the accident report is all it takes to send her spiralling back to the trauma of that day. Panicked and furious, she confronts David — accusing him of siding with Lacey and reopening wounds she has fought so hard to heal.

Her emotions boil over as she suffers another panic attack, locking herself in her room while David pleads through the door. The moment is interrupted by the arrival of Justin, Leah (Ada Nicodemou) and Theo (Matt Evans), forcing David to put the barbecue on hold as Jo storms out in tears.

A Family Divided

Outside, Jo runs into Tane (Ethan Browne), who lends a sympathetic ear as she tries to make sense of everything. But when Lacey appears, Jo snaps — confronting her sister and accusing her of manipulating their father. Lacey denies it, but Jo refuses to believe her.

Back at the house, John (Shane Withington) drops by with a bottle of wine to welcome the new residents, remarking that Irene would be glad to see the Beach House filled with family again. The comment hits hard, reminding David just how far from whole his family has become.

Later, he confides in Leah and Theo about the toll Kristina’s death has taken. He admits he only wanted to ensure nothing was missed in the investigation — but now fears it may have cost him both daughters.

Facing the Truth Together

That evening, Lacey confronts David, demanding to see the file. He refuses, instead inviting her and Theo out for dinner to explain that he’s simply searching for closure. But when Jo accuses him of blaming her for the crash, David finally realises he can’t keep the truth buried any longer.

The next morning, he gathers his daughters and admits he never read the full report after the crash — he couldn’t bear to. Now, he insists it’s time they face it together once and for all.

But as painful secrets resurface and long-buried guilt rises to the surface, can the Langhams truly find peace, or will the truth tear them apart for good?
