Jensen Ackles’ ‘The Boys’ Prequel Lassos a Yellowstone Universe Star for Major Role
Jensen Ackles’ fans were recently dealt a devastating blow when Prime Video announced it would not be moving forward with another
season of his crime thriller series, Countdown. However, Ackles is due to star in another show that just got an exciting update, one that will
hopefully help ease the blow of Countdown being cancelled. Ackles has been tapped to reprise his role as Soldier Boy in Vought Rising, a

prequel series to The Boys set during the 1950s during Vought’s rise to power. Ackles will star alongside The Boys Season 2 veteran Aya Cash, who will be reprising her role as Stormfront in the prequel show.
News broke yesterday afternoon that Vought Rising has added several recurring stars to its cast, including Raphael Sbarge, who is famous for playing Major Hemphill in 1883, the Yellowstone prequel series from Taylor Sheridan. Other new names joining the cast include Romi Shraiter, Aaron Douglas, and David Hewlett. Details about whom they’re playing are being kept under wraps, but they’re all expected to feature across the first season. It’s a safe bet that Sbarge is playing some villainous role, though, potentially even one of the early suits at Vought.
The Boys universe has expanded far beyond what anyone was expecting when the first season hit Prime Video back in 2019. The show offered an unorthodox take on superheroes during a time when Marvel’s golden boys were dominating the conversation thanks to the recent release of Avengers: Endgame. The Boys has since released four highly successful seasons, and it’s even halfway through the second season of its first spin-off, Gen V. Vought Rising is expected to begin production soon.
