At the start of this week, an unknown assailant was spotted dragging Ray’s body through the village. Then in the crossover special Corriedale, Jai Sharma appeared oblivious as he attempted to drive to Manchester with Ray’s body hidden in the back of the van.

Of course, as Moira Dingle’s voice-over teased at the end of this week, secrets can’t stay buried forever. How will the villagers feel when they discover that Ray has been killed? We can’t imagine many tears being shed…

Emmerdale’s first clip of the week shows the residents going about their morning activities, but some of them are looking suspicious.

As police cars come rushing into the village, who should be worried?

It’s not long before the police end up at Caleb Miligan’s depot, announcing that they want to search the entire premises and the vehicles. Caleb and Jai are dismayed that the business is still under scrutiny following rumours that it’s involved with drug deliveries.

When the police look inside the van that Jai was driving, the inevitable happens as Ray’s body is discovered! As the detectives are about to search through the vehicle logs to determine who was driving and when, Jai may have a lot of explaining to do…

Later in the week, Laurel Thomas has a quiet moment in church before heading outside and coming face-to-face with Marlon Dingle.

Marlon apologises to Laurel for not warning her about Ray’s evil actions when she first started dating the villain. He protests that his family were in too much danger, but Laurel refuses to accept his excuses.

Laurel also makes a vague comment about how far she went to get Ray out of her life, but this seems highly suspicious… what exactly does she mean by that?

Emmerdale bosses will reveal Ray’s killer before the end of the month. A special flashback week is planned soon, which will explore the motives of the various suspects and reveal what really happened.

Show producer Laura Shaw recently said: “Following the discovery of Ray’s body, villagers’ secrets will come out as the mystery surrounding Ray’s death is finally solved.

“Before the end of January, a special week will flash back to the night of the murder, revealing which of the multiple suspects is responsible for Ray’s demise.”
