Remi is left devastated in the aftermath of his painful break-up with Bree, and he begins spiralling into self-destructive habits. Unable to face the raw emotions of heartbreak, he turns to alcohol, drinking heavily in an attempt to numb the ache he feels inside. His friends Eden and Cash quickly notice the change in him and, worried for his wellbeing, they reach out to offer comfort and support. However, their concern is met with anger. Remi lashes out defensively, refusing to open up about his feelings, and pushes them away in frustration, insisting that they should leave him alone.

Later that afternoon, Remi’s drinking escalates further when he plants himself at Salt, downing drink after drink. His behaviour becomes increasingly reckless and disruptive, drawing attention from those around him. Cash eventually steps in, recognising that Remi is in no state to remain at the bar, and gently but firmly tries to escort him out before things get worse. But the intervention backfires. Fuelled by alcohol and raw emotion, Remi reacts with hostility and suddenly lashes out, throwing a punch that lands squarely on Cash’s face. The shocking outburst leaves both Eden and the other patrons stunned, highlighting just how far Remi has fallen.

The following morning, Eden is woken by the sound of Remi’s motorbike revving outside. She rushes to the window only to see him speeding off, and panic instantly grips her when she realises he is still well over the limit from the night before. Fear for her friend’s safety overwhelms her as she considers the dangers — not just to Remi, but to everyone else on the road. For Eden, the situation has reached a crisis point, and she knows something must be done before the damage becomes irreversible.

Leah, Justin, and John arrive at Irene’s place full of enthusiasm, ready to dive into planning for the upcoming party. They knock and call out, expecting to find her waiting with her usual warmth and energy, but the house is strangely quiet. After a few minutes, it becomes clear that Irene isn’t there at all, leaving the group puzzled and slightly concerned.

Determined to track her down, John decides to check the Diner, thinking she may have wandered over. To his surprise, he finds Irene behind the counter, apron on, busily serving customers as if nothing has changed. John is taken aback and gently reminds her that she doesn’t work at the Diner anymore, and that she had stepped away from those responsibilities some time ago. Irene laughs it off at first, embarrassed, but there’s a flicker of worry in her eyes as she tries to explain herself.

Back at home, the confusion deepens. When Leah and Justin begin talking about party plans, Irene struggles to keep up and even forgets why her friends have gathered there in the first place. The lapse overwhelms her, and the brave face she has been putting on begins to crack. Overcome with emotion, Irene breaks down in front of Leah, admitting through tears that she’s frightened — frightened that her memory is slipping away more often, and that she may not have many good days left. In that vulnerable moment, Leah and the others realise just how much Irene is struggling, and the weight of her fear hangs heavily in the room, changing the tone of the day from lighthearted planning to a painful reminder of how fragile things have become.
