Jo makes a well-intentioned attempt to step in and lend Harper a hand by searching for a new rental property on her behalf, believing she is doing something supportive and helpful. However, her involvement does not go down well at all. Instead of feeling grateful, Harper is furious at what she perceives as meddling and a lack of respect for her independence. Her anger quickly boils over, and she lashes out, making it crystal clear that she doesn’t want Jo intruding on her personal decisions.
In her frustration, Harper even goes so far as to confront Tane, warning him that he needs to make sure his new partner stays out of her business entirely. She frames Jo’s actions as interference rather than kindness, pushing Tane into the uncomfortable position of having to mediate between the two women.
Afterwards, Tane takes a softer, more measured approach. He gently speaks to Jo, carefully explaining Harper’s perspective and the impact her actions have had. Although his words are calm and considerate, they hit home. Jo comes to the painful realisation that, no matter how good her intentions are, any move she makes where Harper is concerned will be seen in a negative light. Whether she tries to help or takes a step back, she is destined to be criticised. This leaves Jo questioning her role and wondering if she can ever win Harper’s approval, or if she will always be painted as the one in the wrong.

After a long and thoughtful conversation with Alf, Roo begins to see things from a different perspective. Realising that her earlier reaction may have been too harsh, she softens her stance and encourages Cohen to reconsider his feelings. With genuine sincerity, she urges him to give Adrian another chance, reminding Cohen that sometimes people deserve an opportunity to prove themselves.
Wanting to take the first step towards reconciliation, Roo extends a warm invitation to Adrian, asking him to come over to their home for a proper meet-up. When he arrives, Roo openly apologises for the way she lashed out before, acknowledging that her emotions got the better of her and expressing regret for any hurt she may have caused. Her honesty and humility help break down the tension, creating a more welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved.
As the three of them begin to move forward, Roo gently makes one request of Adrian. She urges him not to bring up the sensitive subject of Samantha while he is spending time with Cohen. Her intention is to allow Cohen to feel at ease without reopening old wounds or stirring up unnecessary conflict. Having cleared the air and established this understanding, Roo hopes that both Cohen and Adrian can focus on rebuilding their relationship in a calmer, more positive way.
