Cain realises that Bear’s first-hand knowledge of life at Celia’s farm could be enough to clear Moira’s name. He tries to force Bear down to the police station to explain that Moira wasn’t part of the criminal operation, but Dylan intervenes when he sees that Cain is making matters worse with his violent approach.

Later, Sarah urges Cain to consider his health – but he insists that Moira’s predicament is all they need to worry about at the moment.

Cain attends his appointment at the hospital – accompanied by Sarah, the only person who knows what’s going on. The consultant explains that Cain’s best course of treatment is a radical prostatectomy. Sarah puts on a supportive front, but is visibly concerned.

Later, Cain wonders if he’s strong enough to face the treatment without Moira around to support him – and even scrunches up the leaflet he’s been given by the hospital.

Victoria is relieved when John’s death is ruled as suicide, which seemingly puts her in the clear.

Despite this, Victoria struggles to look to the future now that she and Robert will be selling the farm to Joe. She suggests they should tell Cain what’s really going on, but Robert refuses to consider it.

Joe warns Robert that he’ll plant further evidence to incriminate Moira unless the farm sale is sped up. Victoria overhears the conversation and confronts Robert, who admits that he put the incriminating documents in Moira’s home following instructions from Joe.

As Victoria realises that Robert was trying to protect her, she considers making life much easier for everyone by handing herself into the police for John’s murder.

Joe turns his spiteful focus to Victoria, putting pressure on her to sign the sale documents immediately. Victoria stalls for time by insisting that she needs to take the paperwork home to read.

The next day, Joe gives Victoria his final warning – she must get Moira’s signature on the papers within six hours, or he’ll give the incriminating video of John’s death to the police.

Victoria arrives to see Moira in prison and breaks the bad news that they need to sell the farm, as it’s become unmanageable without Moira around to run it.

Moira starts to be swayed towards the idea, but she’s shocked when Victoria shares the crucial detail that they’d be selling to the Tates. After her turbulent history with Joe and Kim, will Moira veto this idea?

When John’s ashes are delivered, Tracy claims them for herself as she wants to avenge Nate’s death. Victoria is curious when she learns that Robert and Tracy have been spotted in cahoots over John’s remains.

Accompanied by Robert, determined Tracy prepares to flush John’s ashes down one of the pub toilets. She claims that the petty act will help her gain closure, but how will Victoria and Aaron react when they walk in?

At first glance it seems like Robert has suffered a breakdown, but he soon presents Aaron with a piece of the original Emmerdale Farm sign. Full of optimism, Robert vows to reclaim the farm and get his fractured family back on track.

Dylan finally tells April the truth about Ray’s murder, admitting that he was present for the grisly moment and Bear was responsible. Paddy is left furious when Dylan admits that he has told April the truth – seeing it as a major risk to their ongoing cover-up.

Bear witnesses the latest tensions and starts to spiral again. April suggests to Paddy that it might be time to tell the police the truth, but Paddy refuses as they’re already in too deep with the cover-up.

Bear steps in when he sees April crying. April shares her fears that the police may still charge her for the crimes she was forced to commit when she was working for Ray and Celia.

In response, Bear reveals his own sadness after killing Ray. When April urges Bear to see that Ray was a bad man and didn’t have his best interests at heart, Bear finally breaks down.

When Paddy witnesses the emotional moment, he realises that Bear would benefit from counselling – despite the obvious threat this poses to the big Ray secret.

Recent events continue to take their toll on Ray and Celia’s victims. Bear struggles with his guilt during his counselling session – but will he say too much?

Dylan wrestles with his own feelings of self-loathing, telling Paddy that he feels like a “curse” and wants to leave the village.

April is also giving herself a hard time as she insists to Rhona that she deserves to be punished for everything she’s done – despite her stepmum’s protests that she was a victim of manipulation.
